Day to day responsibilities include managing a team of IT professionals including front end web developers and email marketing specialists, business intelligence developers, and .NET programmers. The application and web services teams provides customizations to Blackbaud CRM, the enterprise fundraising platform for the University, custom application development including the University's online giving platform, business intelligence and data quality management reporting, email marketing, web design, and content management. In addition to managing the team, I am also heavily involved in building CRM customizations, custom .NET applications, and writing complex SQL scripts for data management and analytics. I am also primarily responsible for give.unc.edu.

Technologies I personally use in this job include Transact-SQL, SQL Server, SSIS, C#, VB.NET, HTML5, CSS, Javascript, jQuery, Angular 11, Typescript, Subversion/SVN, Git, Visual Studio, and VS Code.

Numerous responsibilities including developing and maintaining tools for use by Duke staff and by external users (alumni & donors) using Coldfusion, jQuery and Flex. Applications are both procedural and object-oriented in nature, with some applications using the Framework/1 MVC framework. We are currently using SQL Server 2008 and IBM DB2 (on our mainframe) as the back-end for our applications. I am responsible for configuration and administration of both SQL Server and Coldfusion servers (production and test). I am also assisting in our current SAP migration project which includings writing extract programs for data conversion as well as helping develop new interfaces for web applications that will rely on data from the new SAP system.
