About Me: I am a programmer / IT Manager currently living in North Carolina and working at the University of North Carolina in the Office of University Development.
I grew up in Pinckney, Michigan, graduated from Saline High School (Class of 1990), and graduated
from Western Michigan University with a degree in Printing (Class of 1995). I've been doing web site development professionally since 1997, although I now do more back-end programming and database work than actual web site design. It's been a long time since I built an actual web site!
I have a beautiful daughter named Emily. She is 16 years old.
I used to be a rampant blogger (see below), and I love gardening. I even have a separate blog for gardening,
ricksroots.com.
I have many sports allegiances - I'm a big fan of the Michigan Wolverines (especially football), the Detroit Lions, and the Detroit Tigers. I also root for Duke Football and NC State Basketball, and the Carolina Hurricanes.
