Time to resume the diet...
Categories: Health and Fitness
As many of you know, I lost about 40 pounds in 4 months last year dong the Atkins Diet. At the same time, I started working out 4-5 times a week at the gym.
Since then, I've kept most of the pounds off (I was down to about 230 but I'm at about 235 right now), and to be honest, I haven't been to the gym in 2 months.
Well, I need to get back in the program, so I'm back on Atkins And I'm gonna start heading to the gym again. I'll keep you all posted, as I'm sure you're very interested.

Re: Time to resume the diet...
you're right! you should get back to the gym. don't do the same routine day in and day out: you will get bored. And perhaps thats why you stopped. if you have stopeed losing, then you need to shock your body. GO TO THE GYM!

Re: Time to resume the diet...
No doubt, Dan! I think going to the gym is why I've managed to keep (most) of the weight off... but if I wanna lose more I have to keep that up.

Re: Time to resume the diet...
I ended up here because someone sent me the I like you...but I am commenting on the weight loss and particularly the Atkins Diet.....DON'T DO IT!!!!! I know you have already lost weight on it, but have begun to gain it back. The gym helps, of course, but studies have shown that people on the Atkins gain all of their weight back and some when they go off the diet. I have something much better! Let me know if you are interested! :)

Re: Time to resume the diet...
Actually, i lost 40 pounds in just over 3 months.. from early april to mid July. Since then, I gained 5 pounds back.
MOST people who do Atkins DON'T exercise. In fact, I think most people who go on diets don't exercise. That's the difference between my success story and other people's failures.
BTW, since I posted this article, I've lost 5 pounds.

Re: Time to resume the diet...
Dont know if anybody reads these but here goes...........I;v started the atkins diet and not really sure if it is working as i dont seem to be sloosing as much weight as i hoped for. Although i am loosing it it is very slow. Has anyone got any good tips or advise as i keep hearing all these success stories but have never talked to anyone who has tried it. I know its 'supposed' to be bad but i need to loose the weight fast. Also i do excersise very frequently.

Re: Time to resume the diet...
I was skeptical of Atkins for 2 years, then after an RN friend of mine lost 30 lbs I thought I would give it a try. The first week was hard but after that it was almost like "auto-pilot." I think the key to KEEPING off the weight is learning what dieting (any diet) teaches you, which foods will satisfy your hunger without containing a lot of junk. Because I've been off Atkins for a month but I now have the willpower to resist sugary, starchy fillers. I don't even have cravings because my metabolism has adjusted to eating healthy. I DO exercise by walking a little but that's it.
