Sith Happens
My review of the third (sixth) installment in the Star Wars Saga
The following may contain spoilers, so if you didn't see the movie yet you may not want to read it....
Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith
I could tell by the previews that I was going to like this. Honestly, I didn't much care for Episode I. I took it for what it was - a background story. Episode II was a lot better because there was a lot more action, and far less Jar Jar. And Episode III was down right dark. The Empire Strikes Back was also very dark.
Ewan McGregor did a fantastic job as Obi Wan Kenobi. After he defeated Anakin on the lava planet, I got choked up by his emotion. You could feel his pain when he shouted out "You were like a brother to me Anakin! I loved you!".
And when Anakin entered the Jedi temple to slaughter the younglings (young jedi learners.. kids not much more than 6 or 8 years old, it really brought a sick feeling to my stomach. That must be the dad in me.
I tied up a lot of loose ends between the trilogies and really explained a lot. I plan to see it again with my wife.

The romantic banter between Anakin and Amidala was pretty bad. You can't expect Lucas to write romantic banter =) He should've gotten McGregor's advice - Ewan has been in a number of romantic comedies, hasn't he? :)
In the original Star Wars, Kenobi doesn't seem to recognize C3P0 and R2D2. Given that R2D2 was heavily involved in the "Rescue" of chancellor Palpatine, that seems to be a bit of a flaw. Perhaps "old Ben" had Alzheimers.
I was a little shocked at how quickly Anakin become totally evil after pledging himself to Palpatine. He did so out of his love for Padme, and yet he immediately goes out and slaughters the children in the Jedi temple. IT seemed a bit of a stretch to me.
But this is a fantasy, after all. No movie is perfect!
Honestly, I don't think Lucas would go out of his way to ensure that any story lines in any series of books are maintained in any way.
That being said.. I didn't write the plot, I just posted it. I disabled commenting because the conversation was getting out of hand =)
I'm sorry, but that is a very ignorant statement. Walk or drive down to the bookstore. Go to the Science Fiction section of the bookstore. Look for The Unifying Force by James Luceno(author); the paperback edition. In the back is a 30 page round robin interview with some of the creative minds that are involved with Lucasfilm, and the author himself(obviously). Read it. I know you are just posting other information, and I'm sorry if I come off a little crass, but seriously. George Lucas was even involved with the latest game that came out: Star Wars: The Force Unleashed. Sure, he doesn't write the plotlines for these books, but he is still the creative mind on them, when publishers or developers are dealing with his universe. Anyway that's just me ranting and raving.
On another note. I did enjoy Episode 3 very much, but am still a die hard fan of the originals.
